Everyday Cocktail Rings

01 Sep, 2016

Is there anything more juicy and delicious than a massive hand cut stone?

I remember when I was a little girl, my mum would let me play dress ups in her jewellery box. She had this huge raw Amethyst ring and I was mesmerised by it. I would put it on my thumb and stare down into its crystal depths and imagine all the magic hidden there.

One day I went to play with the Amethyst ring and it was gone...

We all hunted high and low and that ring to this day has never been found. Mum still talks about it and blames my sister and I!

My love of chunky “feature jewellery” started young and while the first 10 years of Uberkate have been dedicated to the personalised and heirloom I am now in a position to share my love of stones with you all.

When designing the Everyday Cocktail Ring, I wanted something large, something with an odd number of claws (hence the three large claw design.. I’m a fan of odd numbers)

But I wanted a ring that could be worn everyday, and not just saved for best!

I wanted to look down at my hand while wearing the ring and admire it the way we all admired our engagement rings!

High set in a protective bezel with three unique claws holding it in place, our Everyday Cocktail rings are ready to be admired… and we will be releasing new stones soon so that I can continue to share with you my passion for unique and hand cut semi precious and precious stones.

LARIMAR

Did you know Larimar… has a vibration that assists clear communication?

Larimar is the embodiment of the tranquil Sea and Sky energies. Its soft, soothing blues and calming turquoise is streaked with white patterns that resemble sunlight dancing beneath Caribbean waters. It brings the ancient wisdom of Atlantis and the healing power of dolphins to harmonise the body and soul.

A stone of clear communication, it provides the strength and courage needed to speak openly from the heart.

GREEN AMETHYST

A green amethyst contains the majority of the healing benefits of a purple amethyst plus some additional traits.

Both green and purple amethysts will help to guard the owner against drunkenness and assist overcoming addictive personality disorders.

Both coloured gemstones are also great guarders against negativity in life. This negativity can come from oneself or from other surrounding negative energies.

Green Amethyst is usually created from Natural Purple Amethyst but the natural stone is heated to make it green; this is common practice.

So does this make the stone synthetic ?

‘No’ because the stone is natural

Does the treatment of the natural stone mean that the green colour is ‘synthetic’ ?

Yes, the colour is synthetic but the stone is not, heating of gemstones is a common treatment:

All Tanzanites are heated

98% of all Sapphires are heated

98% of all Rubies are heated

99.9% of all Green Amethysts are heated (there are small naturally heated deposits from south western Poland - but the appearance of these stones is often not attractive due to the uneven heating provided by nature).

Take a look at our new Everyday Cocktail rings for yourself and see if you can force yourself to choose between the Larimar or the Green Amethyst.
